My First Yoga and Meditation Retreat: Riviera Maya, Mexico
When I received an email from Grand Palladium Resorts regarding potentially leading a retreat, I felt this pull toward being open to figure out how such a collaboration would work. I had received several emails from various retreat companies seeking a collaboration, but I had never taken the time to find out more information. I'm so glad I continued building a relationship with the Grand Palladium team and heard them out. Next thing I knew, they sent me to visit their Riviera Maya Resort and Spa in August just to get an idea of what I would like to do for my first yoga and meditation retreat. I was immediately in love! I experienced the hotel, went off-site to explore Tulum and Playa Del Carmen and created the perfect agenda for my retreat to be held in January 2017...
Fast forward to January, I had a total of 5 individuals signed up and I felt excited to be able to lead them through some fun activities, yummy food and relaxing time. Each day was planned very carefully, figuring out timing and making sure there would also be plenty of down time in between all of the exciting adventures. We were all hooked on the buffets that had various healthy (and not-so-healthy, not going to lie) options to suit every retreat member's needs. My favorite had to be all of the colorful tropical fruit and juices!
Throughout the retreat we went snorkeling with sea turtles (R.I.P. GoPro), visited the ruins in Tulum, soaked in the sun along all the beaches, went to the spa daily, visited the most magical cenote, dined inside of a cave and so much more. I loved connecting on a deeper level with all of the retreat members and thoroughly enjoyed seeing them having fun. I think the amount of laughs, which seemed constant, played a significant role in everyone having a great time. I am definitely so happy that I planned this retreat and I cannot wait for the next one!
